In the past few weeks I have learned a lot of new ways to create models in 3dsmax. Like how to scatter a compound object across the surface of another object. This new skill helped me make the spikes on the cactus I made on the my work page. The next thing I tried was making tool by creating and lofting splines. You can see the Phillips head screwdriver I made with splines in the my work page too. After that I started working with blobmesh and arrays in class and now I am working on creating chess pieces and a chess board with all the skill I have learned.

This past week me and my class have been working in 3D Max. 3D Max is a program the allows you to create 3D models. Using 3D Max we have been able to create snowmen, robots, spaceships, and lots of other things. We use tutorials to learn how to create all these 3D models with the different tools. We also learned how to use different modifiers that we can use to add detail to our models and shapes.
We are still working un illusrator. Mr.B has given us a bunch of assiments to work on for illusrator. A lot of it is with the pen tool. The pen tool is used to trease and make shapes. On one assiment he had us make a cheese burger with the pen tool. He also had us trase a frog too.
My class has just started working in illustrator. We have learned the basics and are now starting on projects. On the first project Mr.B had us make a pizza using the selection tool, shape tool, and shape builder tool. Mr.B also told us about the pen tool and the direct selection tool. I am now working on making the hulk from just shapes.
In digital arts class we are using Photoshop to go over composition techniques. composition techniques are techniques that tell you where and how to place visual elements in images and art. The techniques we use are called the rule of thirds, the rule of odds, perspective composition and simplification. The rule of thirds is when you split your image into nine different sections using tree lines. You put your mane visual elements on the lines or where the lines intersect. the rule of odds is when you have an odd number of visual elements. perspective composition is when you make a 2D image look 3D. Simplification is when you get rid of any unnecessary visual elements from your image.
In the first 2 weeks of school I have learned the history of digital art and some careers in digital art. Some of the careers that I have learned about are graphic design, photographer, and film and video editor. I learned the most about film and video editing from when I made a timeline about it. I learned about some of the first movies and cartoons to use editing and animation like the Four Troublesome Heads and Fantasmagorie. Fantasmagorie is the first animated cartoon ever. It was made a French animator named Émile Cohl.
